'S4' Model Explained

The ‘S4’ Model is a structured approach designed to identify, build, and reinforce the Right Behavior at every level of the organization. It ensures that employees receive the right developmental interventions aligned with organizational goals.

1. Search Right Behavior

We begin by studying the organization’s competency framework along with qualitative scores from the Performance Management System (PMS). This helps us identify the technical and functional development needs of each employee.

These insights are discussed with supervisors and HR to finalize the annual Competency Development interventions. Once completed, employees are grouped into homogenous learning clusters for smooth execution.

2. Structure Right Behavior

After finalizing the behaviors needed for result-oriented action, we design customized learning interventions and tools relevant to the organization’s culture and goals.

An initial version is shared with HR for feedback and refinement, followed by discussions with management for alignment.

3. Service Right Behavior

Once the interventions are approved, we conduct a management walkthrough and orientation before rollout.

Training is delivered based on standardized groups, venues, and the learning calendar.

Profiles of facilitators are shared for approval, and “get to know” sessions can be arranged if required.

4. See Results for Right Behavior

We maintain post-program engagement with participants via email and phone for the agreed duration.

After this, supervisors and HR are approached to evaluate whether the desired behavioral change has occurred and if it is contributing to ROI.

The next PMS cycle further validates improvements and measures contribution to overall productivity.
